This is the last full day of the Sturgis rally. We haven’t spent any time downtown at any of the vendors. We decided to do that today. I also needed an oil change for the remainder of the trip and I lost another crew from my headlight so I need to find one of those. My poor bike is just rattling apart. Minor issues though. I’m sure it will be fine. We got the oil Changed by a The Oil Change Guy, Rick Sweet, from Joplin MO. He has a few businesses but comes and does oil changes on bikes at Sturgis. He did a great job. While I was waiting, I saw a few bikes that I didn’t expect to see. Puerto Rico….. And I thought I came from a
long distance.
After the oil change I went searching for a jacket to replace the one I lost on the way up. No luck, but I did find a nice furry seat cover that should make riding a bit more tolerable. At least that is what the guy selling them told me
It does seem to make a difference. We got rained on so we hid in a car wash bay for a bit until it passed and then made our way downtown to The Knuckle Saloon.
When we parked we ran into a film crew doing interviews for a special airing on FX September 3rd during the premier of the Son’s of Anarchy a new show about bikers. I did a 30 min interview and they said it was the best they had all day, so perhaps I’ll be on national TV. I probably won’t be home by then so everyone set their TIVOs
and send me a copy. (www.fxnetworks.com/SOA ).
By this time we were hungry so we went into the bar and they had a buffet going. We met a Canadian couple, Blayne and Nick from Alberta, that had just arrived yesterday and ended up hanging around with them and showing them some of the cool places we had found. We left The Knuckle and went to the Broken Spoke. It was neat place and there were all kinds of motorcycles and interesting carvings all over the place. I even got shot while I was there (see pictures). We ended the evening by going to the Full Throttle bar that was on the way back to the campground. It was nice too but we didn’t stay long. We wanted to get back in time for Karaoke night at the campground. Tomorrow everything ends so we will break camp and move on to the next adventure.
Thanks again for following along and keep those donations coming in.
